Ingredients

  • 1 lb ziti pasta
  • 1 jar (24oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 lb ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Fresh basil for garnish
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

Cook Pasta

Boil ziti until just al dente (1-2 minutes less than package directions). Drain.

Mix Cheese Filling

In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, 1 cup mozzarella, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Assemble

In a 9x13 dish, layer half the pasta, half the sauce, all the ricotta mixture, then remaining pasta and sauce. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.

Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 more minutes until bubbly and golden.
